Love this and agree 100%. I think people use “number of countries visited” as a proxy for being cultured, simply because it’s easy to quantify and compare. I always cringe when I hear someone say “I’ve done (this country), I was there for a week.” You can’t *do* a city or country: there are always more layers to uncover and changes taking place. My favorite travel moments involve slowing down long enough to get a sense of the pace of life and meet people.
